Ann, This is beautiful! I’ve been aware that this multi-track tech is available, but I’ve never tried it myself. You know, Jan Peppler and Elizabeth Beggins and I have threatened to form a Substack choir. If we ever do it, I hope you’ll take a part.
Here's how I'd do it. Have one person sing the piece with accompaniment (which can then be distributed to the next one, Each person records their part, listening to the others, And so on. It is important to record using earbuds to not get feedback from multiple accompaniments. And it helps to have the other parts so we stay in tune and in time. Then someone assembles each voice together with the accompaniment, using post-production (if available. That is exactly how I did it.
That sounds pretty straightforward. Jan is traveling soon, but we hope to get together in person when she’s back. That might give us a kick. :-) I’m so impressed that you are using these gadgets to do such a joyful thing.
Wow! Lovely recording. Computers can do so much, and it’s amazing that there was no post production. Thank you for sharing. 🙏
