OK, fair warning. I am going to spend the next few paragraphs griping. My last few weeks have become difficult. It’s inconvenient. As a writer, I need words, language, clarity, and expression. But as things progress, I find I am constantly making typos. I have a tremor that adds more difficulty. Pretty soon this may all be a podcast!
But be that as it may, it is also (kind of) interesting to watch my mind simplify, to hide words from me, and to make what used to be simple harder. Life becomes something like Charades. “Sounds like… you know, he has a beard and lives in England…” At least I know when I have made a mistake.
My computer has turned into Moriarity and I have become Sherlock. It delights in interrupting and insisting I do something else, NOW, but when I get back to my original task I can’t find it. Or remember it! For example: to sign on to some sites I have to let them send an SMS code for me to enter. I get the code from Messenger, then can’t find the site. I finally figured it out yesterday. My browser is usually Chrome, but for some reason, that particular site opened in Safari! I had to go there to find the wayward site. And in the midst of all of this, another program popped up, demanding I attend to it.
It can take me all morning to deal with messages and emails. But the worst is Social Security and Medicare! Be prepared! Not only do you have to deal with the government’s insistence on having all the forms filled out correctly, but you will be inundated with phone calls from scammers wanting to sell you “final expenses” insurance, or to advise you on what plan to choose, and special secret benefits that don’t exist.
Now to the fun stuff. I am enjoying exploring the world of literature and writing, Oh, and poetry! I hope to bring some guests on to talk about these themes. I am a nobody with only a few subscribers, so if you want to make this possible, SUBSCRIBE! It’s free. As a benefit, you will get emails of my posts. It saves finding me and remembering your password. That is worth subscribing just by itself!
