Meet Heather at Sprinkled Inspiration. I made her acquaintance last year. Today I saw one of her latest prompts and had fun writing for it.
BTW this post was very hard to construct. Trying to have her material on my page seemed to form some sort of infinite loop. To get to Heather’s page from here I wanted to put in a link. But then my page tab disappeared. If I went to Heather’s page I couldn’t get back to mine without signing in again on another tab, whereupon Heather’s tab disappeared. And again. And again. Somebody show me how to crosspost, please!

You see! It happened again! All I want to do is post her link at my address without switching pages!
Back again from the zone. I tried to insert her link again. I am going to link it once more AND NOT CLICK IT. Just be aware. If you click I disappear. Poof! Then you will miss my story.

Hi, Heather. I hope you don't mind if my story is exceedingly short. The prompt: Use break-up, book signing, and purple balloon.
My boyfriend Sam and I had just had a break-up, and I was heartbroken. I had hoped that he was the one. But I had to continue living. I had a book signing that afternoon for my latest romance novel. The cover's theme was purple balloons because that was my favorite part of the story.
OK, you can stop here. Or you can continue.
My boyfriend Sam and I had just had a break-up, and I was heartbroken. I had hoped that he was the one. But I had to continue living. I had a book signing that afternoon for my latest romance novel. The cover's theme was purple balloons because that was my favorite part of the story.
A man named Rufus, the protagonist, worked as a clown at the circus. He had trouble finding romance. No woman could take him seriously when he told them he was a clown. At least the ones he was interested in. Then one day during the matinee performance he saw a woman in the stands, laughing and clapping enthusiastically. He enjoyed watching her--she was delightful. So he went up to her and gave her one of his balloons, a purple one. That was the start of a beautiful relationship.
Then one day they argued. He stormed out, but quickly realized his stupidity. He didn’t want to break up. He didn't want to spoil the best thing he had ever found. He put on white face, a sad clown face with tears streaming down. He rang her doorbell and knelt down. When she opened the door, there he was. He handed her the largest purple balloon ever.
I loved that part--the whimsy and the genuineness of his apology/proposal.
It was nearing the end of the afternoon and the book signing was just about over. At the moment there was no one in line. I heard the door open and I looked up. There Sam was, holding a single glorious deep purple balloon.
Hey! My story has a loop too.
Enjoyed the story, thank you
