There are of course now more Christians in the world than ever before both in total numbers and as a percentage of the human population and yet the human world is becoming more and more insane everyday. And, indeed some/many of the leading edge vectors of that now global psychosis are right-wing Christian true believers. Tens of millions of which pretend that Donald Trump (Orange Jesus) is their cultic "god's" chosen vehicle to re Christianize America, and even (perhaps) by extension the entire world.
Jonathan, this piece is aimed at the rich, the self-absorbed, the self-satisfied Christians of the West, and there are not as many of the faithful type as you might think. Most denominations are shrinking, even disappearing. The huge numbers of Christians come from Central and South America, and Africa, where people are poor but where their faith can be strong. Here's the thing. I don't see anyone as truly Christian unless their life bears it out. By their fruit you shall know them. The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Our world has a great many things wrong with it, and like Ann discussed above, these are overwhelmingly caused by PEOPLE. You and I are not effectively responsible for governmental actions, or for those of others. What we ARE charged with is to do good from where we are. And that’s where we come up short.
